Cutting Edge Tech for Precision Mechanisms
RESHETNEV company (under Roscosmos State Corporation umbrella) in final stages of precision mechanisms facilities overhaul
The facility upgrade undertaken by the Siberian enterprise resulted in the implementation of five new work stations. The work stations are outfitted with custom, state of the art equipment designed specifically for RESHETNEV. These new instruments will be used for in line precision treatment, testing and measurement of parts and assembly units on the actuator mechanisms assembly line.
The production and test facility re-equipment will help reduce labor intensity while maintaining quality assurance for precision mechanisms. These include angular drives with rotation kinematic accuracy to the order of 10 15 arc seconds, and linear drives with 1 2 micrometer positioning accuracy.
Such precision mechanisms are used in large deployable structures, as well as pointing and positioning systems. Their flawless functioning is crucial for the quality of satellite services provided to users worldwide.
