RESHETNEV (a ROSCOSMOS company) holds a meeting with representatives of the Russian Academy of sciences.
RESHETNEV company was visited by Academician Igor Reshetov, Director of the Sechenov University Institute of Cluster Oncology, and Academician Evgeny Choynzonov, Head of the Tomsk National Research Medical Center Oncology Institute.
These schools are involved in RESHETNEV’s mobile radiation oncology suite project. The suite utilizes an induction accelerator technology for treatment of cancerous growths. At the time of this writing, two such devices are being tested for performance.
A meeting on upcoming clinical trials of the suite was held at RESHETNEV company with representatives of the academic medical community. The trials are to be run at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and the Russian Academy of Sciences Tomsk National Research Medical Center Oncology Institute.
“We would like to see these devices implemented in every oncology ward nationwide. And thanks to RESHETNEV company, we have the opportunity to do so. In order to grant certification for the use of the suite, we have to first pass clinical trials”, explains Evgeny Choynzonov, Professor of the Tomsk National Research Medical Center.
