RESHETNEV company (under ROSCOSMOS State Corporation umbrella) was the first in Russia to master the technology of flexible section integration into waveguide structure.
The waveguides with integrated flexible corrugated sections have a minimum number of joints. Flexible sections use in certain areas of waveguide paths makes it possible to significantly reduce the loss of the radio signal during its passage on board the satellite, thus improving the quality of services for users.
The technology of producing mobile (integrated) waveguides is based on low-temperature soldering of assembly units with a silver coating pre-applied to their surface. Maintaining the integrity of the unique coating while ensuring the required geometric dimensions of the integrated section and the best possible performances of the waveguide path as a whole is a difficult and science–intensive task. RESHETNEV satellite builders have managed to accomplish this task thanks to their research and technological groundwork.
The technology of producing mobile (integrated) waveguides with flexible sections have been successfully applied in satellite manufacturing.
Waveguide – Radio technical devices that form radio signal the transmission paths on board a space vehicle.
Flexible waveguide sections have corrugated shape. Due to their ability to shrink and stretch, they protect on-board equipment from damage under elevated temperature and mechanical loads.
