Satellites Protected from Charging Factors

New National Standard leans on RESHETNEV specialists’ extensive experience as well as international state-of-the-art tech

‘Assurance of Spacecraft Immunity to Charging Factors’ – new National Standard developed by RESHETNEV experts and approved by standardization authority

The new standard has been approved by the Russian Standardization Institute and representatives of leading ROSCOSMOS enterprises. The document is now being prepared for publishing and implementation throughout the space industry.

Over the course of its lifetime, the satellite is subjected to charged particles impact. It’s hit by space plasma and other factors which may result in faulty operation and, in some cases, failure and loss of equipment.

In developing the new National Standard, RESHETNEV specialists leveraged their own extensive experience as well as state-of-the-art tech currently available in the field.

RESHETVEV designs highly complex satellites with powerful payloads requiring extensive research into the mechanics of charging impact on systems and equipment. At the same time, the overall tendency towards miniature, highly sensitive components, calls for improved environment protection. All of this was taken into account when developing the National Standard.

The Standard is to be implemented in early 2026. It is the fourth of National Standards proposed by RESHETNEV for the space industry.
