EXRPRESS-AT1 and EXPRESS-AT2 telecommunication satellites were commissioned from RESHETNEV company by FSUE RUSSIAN SATELLITE COMMUNICATION COMPANY. The satellites are housed by middle class platforms developed by RESHETNEV engineers: EXPRESS-AT1 satellite uses EXPRESS-1000HTV platform and EXPRESS-AT2 satellite uses EXPRESS-1000K platform.
Both satellites were injected into GEO on March 16th 2014 in a tandem launch. Their main mission is to ensure direct digital television broadcasting for federal and regional operators including NTV-Plus, Tricolor, and Orion.
At the moment, EXPRESS-AT1 satellite is operating in 56° East orbital slot, and EXPRESS-AT2 – in 140° East orbital slot. They provide coverage of the entire territory of Russia, including the hard-to-reach regions of the North and Far East.
