While implementing MARATHON IoT data relay system, RESHETNEV specialists developed a new unified satellite platform.

The new platform is composed of honeycomb panels with a set of service subsystems hardware, namely: onboard control subsystem, attitude determination & control subsystem, propulsion subsystem, thermal control subsystem and electric power subsystem.

The satellite has one solar array furnished with silicon-based photo cells. Industrial batteries and a passive thermal control system based on multilayer insulation and optical solar reflectors are used for the new development as well.

Application of these technical solutions will facilitate mass production of satellites, making assembly faster while keeping the cost lower.

In the future, the development of such a platform will enable RESHETNEV to manufacture other microsatellites up to 100 kg for various missions.
