EXPRESS-AM8 Satellite: a Decade in Orbit

EXPRESS-AM8 satellite made by RESHETNEV (a ROSCOSMOS company) continues its mission

The communication spacecraft was designed and built upon FSUE Satellite Communications (RSCC) commission and launched into geostationary orbit on September, 14 2015.

The satellite leverages RESHETNEV’s standard EXPRESS-1000NTV medium class platform. It provides 5800 W for payload power consumption.

The mission is ensured by 42 active transponders operating in C- and Ku- frequency bands. The satellite is designed for a guaranteed 15 years’ lifetime.

EXPRESS-AM8 operates in 14° West, providing users in Russia and abroad with fixed and mobile communication services, digital TV broadcasting, high-rate internet access and data transmission.

RSCC currently operate ten RESHETNEV-made satellites in their orbital fleet.
