April 28 marks the 12th anniversary of LOUTCH-5V and KAZSAT-3 satellites launch. Both satellites had been manufactured by RESHETNEV company.
LOUTCH-5V was designed and manufactured as ordered by ROSCOSMOS. The satellite was injected into orbit on April 28, 2014 and became a part of multifunctional data relay space system LOUTCH. The satellite provides real-time data exchange between ground stations and low-orbit space hardware, including the Russian segment of the International Space Station.
KAZSAT-3 was commissioned by JSC "Republican Center of Space Communication" of Kazakhstan and purposed to provide telecommunication services.
Both LOUTCH-5V and KAZSAT-3 are housed by universal medium-class platform EXPRESS-1000, which allowed to launch both satellites into geostationary orbit simultaneously.
