Three new spacecraft on the way: RESHETNEV (a ROSCOSMOS enterprise) and RSCC sign development contracts.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of the ROSCOSMOS State Corporation, and Dmitry Ugnivenko, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. The contracts were signed by Mikhail Valov, General Director of RESHETNEV, and Alexey Volin, General Director of Russian Space Communications Company (RSCC).
RESHETNEV was awarded contracts for the development and manufacturing of EXPRESS-AT3, EXPRESS-AT4 and EXPRESS-AMU8 satellites whose missions will include telecom, digital TV broadcasting, and data relay including high-rate internet access and multimedia services.
Using state of the art technology, the new satellites will be designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s telecommunications consumers.
“On behalf of our entire team, I want to express deep gratitude to Dmitry Vladimirovich Bakanov, Head of ROSCOSMOS, for his unwavering support in advancing Russia’s telecommunications infrastructure,” said Mikhail Valov, General Director of JSC RESHETNEV.
“This mission represents a significant responsibility — to our nation, society, and our long time partner and customer, RSCC. Our collaboration dates back to 1994, when we delivered the first of 22 EXPRESS satellites for their fleet. Today, RESHETNEV built spacecraft form the core of RSCC’s operational constellation.
With each new project, we push the boundaries of innovation, enhancing our capabilities to deliver higher quality services to users nationwide. I am grateful to Alexey Konstantinovich Volin, General Director of Russian Space Communications Company, for this continued trust and partnership.
Earlier, in December 2025, RSCC and RESHETNEV signed contracts for the development of four spacecraft: EXPRESS-40, EXPRESS-AMU6, EXPRESS-AMU51, and EXPRESS-AMU52. Additionally, the EXPRESS-AMU4 telecommunications and broadcasting satellite is currently under production for RSCC.
Today, spacecraft manufactured by JSC RESHETNEV form the backbone of the national operator’s operational orbital constellation.
Telecom satellites represent critical infrastructure, enabling television broadcasting, internet access, and mobile communications in regions where other technologies are not viable.
