Contract for the development of National Standard for “Ensuring spacecraft sustainability to space charging effects” successfully completed by the expert team at RESHETNEV (a ROSCOSMOS company)
The new regulatory document has been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology. It will be implemented in space industry enterprizes starting January 1st, 2026.
The National Standard was developed by RESHETNEV and the Russian Institute of Standardization. The team at RESHETNEV leveraged their extensive experience as well as cutting-edge international technologies in their assessment of the most relevant impact model including charged particles, plasma and other charging factors capable of disrupting or causing failure of the onboard equipment.
The comprehensive approach allows the Standard to employ the most efficient circuitry and layout solutions, granting the spacecraft enhanced immunity to space environments while simultaneously adhering to the current trend for equipment and structure mass reduction thus allowing for increased payload capacity.
The National Standard for Ensuring Spacecrafts Sustainability to Space Charging Effects is the fourth National Standard developed by the Siberian satellite builders for application in the Russian space industry.
