YAMAL-501 telecommunication satellite, commissioned by GAZPROM SPACE SYSTEMS, is designed for the provision of Ku-band communication and broadcasting services covering the territory of Russia. Its design lifetime is 15 years.
The satellite is housed by EXPRESS-1000 universal platform. The payload, fully based on domestic components, is also designed by Siberian satellite engineers, aided by the scientists of Russian Academy of Sciences Siberian Branch Krasnoyarsk Scientific Centre.
Currently, passive repeater components production is ongoing at RESHETNEV.
