RESHETNEV development was presented to Russian Academy of Sciences

Mobile Radiation Oncology Suite is designed for oncological patients treatment

RESHETNEV company (part of ROSCOSMOS State Corporation) has presented the Mobile radiation oncology suite project at the meeting of Russian Academy of Sciences.

MROS (Mobile Radiation Oncology Suite) project manager, Alexander Ushakov from RESHETNEV company, delivered a presentation to RAS research board for biomedical physics and engineering members. He spoke about MROS development process, technical performances, and therapeutic factor.

This suite is designed for intraoperative treatment of oncological patients. The suite equipment is based on domestic technology of small-size induction electron accelerator. Using the specifically developed system with video cameras and laser rangefinder, RESHETNEV engineers reached the most precise induction electron accelerator positioning.

As of today, RESHETNEV in cooperation with Tomsk Polytechnic University produced two MROS prototypes. They are going to be tested in order to validate their performance as corresponding to its medical purpose. The future plan is to run MROS small-scale production line at RESHETNEV.

Oncology Research Institute of the Tomsk National Medical Research Centre and Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University are taking part in the project as well.

Based on the presented report, the participants of the Scientific Council recognized it expedient to implement RESHETNEV development into medical practice.
