10 years in orbit

EXPRESS-AT1 and EXPRESS-AT2 satellites before transportation to the cosmodrome

On March 16, Reshetnev Company marked the 10th anniversary of EXPRESS-AT1 and EXPRESS-AT2 satellites launch.

10 years ago, Reshetnev Company launched EXPRESS-AT1 and EXPRESS-AT2 satellites.

Reshetnev Company manufactured these telecommunication satellites on commission from the national operator FSUE Space Communications.

Qualified EXPRESS-1000K platform was chosen for EXPRESS-AT2, and EXPRESS-1000NTV platform – a more powerful one – was used with EXPRESS-AT1. The structure and configuration of both these middle class satellites allowed them to be launched and injected into geostationary orbit by one launch vehicle.

EXPRESS-AT1 and EXPRESS-AT2 were designed for round-the-clock broadcasting of direct digital television programs, and high-speed access to the Internet information resources.

For already 10 years out of their 15-year lifetime, EXPRESS-AT1 and EXPRESS-AT2 have been successfully operating in geostationary orbit at 56° and 140° E correspondingly.
