RESHETNEV company is in process of establishing EXPRESS-RV communication satellite system under the public contract with ROSCOSMOS State Corporation
The new communication satellite system shall ensure broadband net access for users all over Russia, including the Arctic Ocean water zone.
RESHETNEV (under the ROSCOSMOS State Corporation umbrella) is currently producing the first out of four nominal satellites. Payload module structure has been assembled and now it is time to mount onboard equipment and low-frequency onboard harness. There are 12 Ku-band antennas and С-, L-antennas being manufactured as we speak. They are going to constitute the onboard data relay complex. RESHETNEV engineers designed and manufactured repeating equipment: filters, couplers, multiplexors and more. Testing of Ku-band antennas operation at the satellite level has shown that they do not interfere during simulations operation.
A part of payload from partner companies, including six ADPMs (Antenna Deployment & Pointing Mechanism) by JSC Siberian Devices and Systems, was already delivered to RESHETNEV and passed incoming inspection. These APDMs are designed to alter Ku-band antennas position to ensure signal coverage of fixed service areas in real time.
As per the public contract, RESHETNEV is also responsible for ground complexes establishing. The central ground station dedicated for the target signal transmission is going to be located at FSUE RSCC in Zheleznogorsk, Russia. The bases for antenna posts have already prepared, and the buildings at the chosen location are being restored. Equipment installation is scheduled for autumn 2025. Mission control centers are going to be deployed at JSC GONETS in Zheleznogorsk and JSC Russian Space Systems in Moscow.
Apart from that, as assigned by RESHETNEV, SPC MKA manufactured three types of user terminals for installation on stationary and mobile objects. Another type of user device based on an active phased array antenna is under development by RESHETNEV specialists.
