New Satellite Transportation Equipment
Upgraded container for satellite transport to launch pad developed at RESHETNEV.
The cutting edge equipment is a joint effort by RESHETNEV company and one of its subsidiaries – NPO PM MKB company.
The new satellite transportation container is designed to be carried by various modes of transportation. It is equipped with a load bearing tilt support which allows for accommodating the satellite at a required angle within the container. Implementing the support will reduce the duration of satellite handling at the launch pad.
Container length was increased for added capacity in order to provide for transporting satellites of varied class and make.
The utility systems in the container automatically control the temperature, humidity, and air purity within, as well as prevent unwarranted mechanical impact to the satellite.
The engineering team has already subjected the container, with a satellite dummy onboard, to a test ride by automobile and railway. At this point, sensors and utility systems were tested, and handling operations were drilled.
The container is to be commissioned for regular operation once testing is completed.
