Telecommunications satellites EXPRESS-80 & EXPRESS-103 made by “Academician M. F. Reshetnev “Information Satellite Systems” company provide access to a large variety of telecommunications services.
Satellites EXPRESS-80 and EXPRESS-103 were designed and manufactured by RESHETNEV company on the basis of a proprietary unified satellite platform EXPRESS 1000H.
Satellites’ tandem launch took place on July 31, 2020. Their injection into the Geostationary Earth Orbit required usage of orbit raising technique: after separation from launch vehicle, the satellites continued their journey to the target orbit and their designated orbital slots using their own electric propulsion.
Currently, EXPRESS-80 and EXPRESS-103 are operating as a part of the RSCC fleet (Russian Satellite Communications Company – national operator) in orbital slots located at longitudes of 80°E and 96,5°E respectively. They provide TV, broadcasting, broadband internet, data transmission, telephony and mobile telecommunications services. Allocation of satellites’ capabilities also helps overcome digital gap.
Guaranteed operating life of EXPRESS-80 and EXPRESS-103 satellites is 15 years.
