System for manned spacecraft

Assembly of the solar array drives control system for the orbital station science and energy module

RESHETNEV company is partaking in a manned spacecraft project.

The engineers of RESHETNEV company, Zheleznogorsk, are developing a system for controlling solar array drives for the orbital station science and energy module.

Due to the large size and high power consumption of the solar panels designed for the orbital station, the new system is going to be based on a much bigger mechanical unit compared to those in similar systems of automatic satellites.

The mechanical unit is built modularly and consists of one root drive and two lateral drives enabled by electronics unit also produced by RESHETNEV.

Currently, the company's specialists are conducting preliminary tests of the system's components. Prototype of the science and energy module will be manufactured after the tests are completed.

The activity was commissioned by RSC Energia.
