EXPRESS-AM8 was manufactured by RESHETNEV at the commission of Russian Space Communication Company. The satellite is housed by a universal EXPRESS-1000HTV platform developed by RESHETNEV company. EXPRESS-AM8 was launched on 14 September 2015.
The satellite is operating in orbital slot 14°W providing different types of communication including fixed-line and mobile telephony, and digital television and radio broadcasting, high-speed Internet access, data transmission in Russia and in foreign countries.
